Magnetic drive pumps transmit torque through a magnetic coupling, removing the conventional dynamic shaft seal from the pump arrangement.
Reduced leakage pathwaysHelps reduce process-fluid leakage risk associated with conventional dynamic shaft seals.
Lower seal-related maintenanceCan reduce mechanical-seal maintenance requirements in suitable applications.
Application-specific selectionFluid compatibility and operating conditions guide appropriate pump configuration.

In a magnetic drive pump, torque is transferred from an outer magnet assembly to an inner magnet assembly through a containment shell. This arrangement removes the conventional dynamic shaft seal between the process liquid and the surrounding environment.
Actual performance and suitability depend on pump design, liquid properties, operating conditions, cooling or lubrication requirements and the manufacturer's limits.
